<\/a>The first is an anthology called Strange Economics<\/em>.\u00a0 It is the first in what is planned to be a series of anthologies in the science fiction and fantasy genres, all of which will have a \u201cstrange\u201d focus.\u00a0 The publisher is based in Toronto.\u00a0Submissions to Strange Economics<\/em> were received from 125 authors located in North America, South America, Europe and Australia.\u00a0 From those submissions, 23 short stories were chosen for inclusion.\u00a0 The quality of writing is quite high.\u00a0The anthology is now available on Am<\/p>\nazon.\u00a0 The links to it are as follows:<\/p>\n
paperback:\u00a0https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/dp\/1999403908\/<\/a><\/p>\n eBook:\u00a0https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/dp\/B07GZ89QH2\/<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The second is another anthology produced by the same Toronto-based publisher.\u00a0 This one is called Sanctuary<\/em>.\u00a0 Its stories are in the science fiction\u00a0, fantasy \u00a0and horror genres.\u00a0 As you may guess from the title, the theme was sanctuary.\u00a0This anthology involves a very difference approach.\u00a0 Twenty-five writers gathered at the Imperial Pub (Yonge Street at Dundas) on the afternoon of August 26th<\/sup>, 2018.\u00a0 The idea was to write and edit from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and complete the anthology in a single day, with the intention of having it published within two days.\u00a0 Advance writing was not permitted, though authors were allowed to develop story and character outlines in advance.\u00a0It was assumed that the finished product would not be as highly polished as works completed with more time. \u00a0The organizers felt that the participating writers had the ability to produce pieces that would be well-worth reading. \u00a0I believe they were right, though as might be expected, there is some variation in the quality of the stories.\u00a0The intention of the exercise was to see how well we could do in producing an anthology under those time constraints.\u00a0 Twenty-one short stories are included, of which two are mine.\u00a0 Given the time constraints, stories are necessarily short, ranging from about 1,000 words to about 3,000 words.<\/p>\n This anthology is also available on Amazon.\u00a0 Here’s the link to it:<\/p>\n https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/dp\/1999403924\/<\/a><\/p>\n For each of these anthologies we are hoping to obtain favourable reviews on Amazon to assist in the sales effort.\u00a0 Any such reviews left by members of WEN would be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n Wayne Cusack<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" New WEN member, \u00a0Wayne Cusack is featured in two publications.
